Television, holding its wobbly mirror up to life, faithfully reflects what statistics show: crime is on the increase in the U.S. In Los Angeles, TV Editor Frank Orme made his second annual survey of TV crime shows, found that in a single week television showed 167 murders, 112 justifiable homicides and 356 attempted murders, and that two-thirds of all this violence was in children's shows. Following the national trend, Orme reported, TV crime was up 15% over last year...
