Death Among the Blossoms. A grimy, black-toothed Buddhist monk, leaning over a balcony in red-walled, pagoda-roofed Chi Ming (Temple of the Crowing Cock), nods his head down the mountainside toward Lotus Lake. Commander-in-Chief Liu Shih flew down to the grey-walled rail town of Pengpu on the Huai's south bank, to set up a new operational base.
