This year's second eleven is not as heavy as that of last year, but is about as fast. Although the back field is as strong as last year, there is not so much good line material. There are, however, a number of satisfactory ends.
The fall track meet was held on Saturday and was a great success. According to the new rule no "Y" men were allowed to compete, and much new material was brought out, which can be counted on to strengthen the team materially.
The team is seriously handicapped by the loss of H. C. Egan '05, W. E. Egan '05, and A. L. White '06, intercollegiate champion last year. The new material, however, is promising, and if the men play their best game the team should win the championship.
The practice of the university football squad for the past week has been characterized by steady improvement, both in offensive and defensive work.
