Cascades of balloons used to be a staple of political functions, back in the days when "party regular" was a title of respect and market research was just a glimmer in some Madison Avenue mind. Convention after convention, speech after speech, they'd release the balloons, each weighted with a drop of water, at the climatic moment. Today, the balloon drop is a dying art form. ...examination of Anderson's record reveals a conservative with a conscience, but a conservative first and foremost. The Jeffersonian creed that "government that governs best governs least" remains the operative phrase in Anderson's political vision. Just put the money into the pockets of consumers and hence into the market system and the benefits will filter down to those in need.
