...rights of personal property have always seemed sacred and inviolable to me, but evidently there are some students here who think that private towels, if they are outside of the lockers, were put there for general use. I know there are others who have been served in the same manner as myself, and that such depredations are now becoming a positive nuisance. Will not an appeal to the consciences of those who like to take other people's property have the effect of making them desist in the future? I am sure it will be a source of gratification...
...Boscovitz was announced as the soloist of the evening but was ill, and Miss Gertrude Edmands was substituted. She sang the Bruch aria in a dramatic and finished manner, but her voice is not of a pleasing quality and is not powerful. The Grieg song showed off her voice to the best advantage. ...speak last evening in Sever 11 on the method of using the catalogue in the college library. After a few introductory remarks on the importance of the library in regard to the other departments of the college, the lecturer directed all his attention to the card catalogue and the manner of using it. The origin of class day can be traced back to the fondness of those early students for plum cake. Very soon in the history of the college, the students gave...
...regret to hear that the freshman class is acting in such an unpatriotic manner with regard to the team that is to represent them to day. It is evident that the members of '91 are novices in college life customs, or they would realize the mistake they are making. They can have no idea of the stimulating effect of enthusiastic cheering, or they would certainly go to New Haven and support their team. If the freshmen eleven is beaten, it will be a bitter lesson to the class, and all the more bitter because the blame will lie with them...
