By far the most interesting event of the evening was the Harvard-Pennsylvania team race, which Harvard lost solely through hard luck. The first three relays by L. T. Hildreth '96, W. H. While the football season just closing seems at first thought to have been a most disastrous one for Harvard, we do not believe that it will prove such in the long run. Our team has been beaten twice; - the first time largely by luck, the second time by distinctly superior playing. Nevertheless, we believe we never stood in a more favorable light before the public than at present. Feeling against the "anything to win" policy has grown very strong, and the sooner that policy is abandoned the better for amateur sport everywhere...

...this year. We cannot be too grateful to Captain Emmons, Dr. Brooks, Mr. Deland, Lewis, and the other coaches for their untiring efforts this year. They have done their best and that has been wonderfully well. The team was one of the best that has ever represented Harvard, but luck has been against it.
