University football practice yesterday afternoon was very listless, owing partly to the large number of substitutes in the scrimmage. Leary, Burr, Guild, Lock-wood and Nichols were all given a rest and, although all the other regular players were out, none of those who played for any length of time in the Pennsylvania game were in the line-up. Carr, Montgomery and Hanley were all out doing light work and Myers of the second, team, who was injured several weeks ago, was out again. Knowlton was again tried at end on the first eleven and O'Brien played...
...Brill fumbled, but recovered the ball and Lockwood went through Rooke for three yards. Brill added a yard and, on a divided play without interference, Foster gained four more. Pennsylvania was twice penalized for offside play and three rushes by Brill brought the ball to the 6-yard line. Lock-wood went through Rooke for a yard, and Brill put the ball on the 2-yard line. About 12.30 o'clock Saturday morning four men, all of whom are probably members of the University broke into Phillips Brooks House through one of the rear windows, forced the lock of one of the doors in the interior of the building, and carried away with them the bronze memorial tablet to Bishop Brooks which was there on exhibition. They were discovered by the police immediately after they had left the building, and one of them, B. Joy '05, was arrested. The others escaped with the tablet, but were forced to drop it in a clump of bushed near...
There will be two coffer-dams and a navigation lock 350 feet long, with a drawbridge and sluices. On top of the dam a roadway will be constructed to replace the Craigie bridge, and a parkway of seven acres will be laid out. The dam will turn the estuary of the Charles river into a fresh water basin, maintaining a level two feet lower than mean high water...
