Because of the small number of candidates for the Freshman football manager it has been found necessary to issue another call. Last year 1917 sent out 75 managerial aspirants, and with a larger class 1918 should at least do as well. On account of the interdormitory series, there will be eight positions to be filled instead of two. Accordingly, the chance of success is much greater than formerly and should attract all Freshmen not engaged in some other activity. The opportunity offered of meeting other members of the class should not be overlooked...

...conclude, is there any real reason why we should not treat our guests from smaller colleges as well as we do those from the larger institutions? Sixty-one thousand people is a larger crowd than has ever attended an event of any kind in New Haven, and while it is expected all tickets will be sold, it is nevertheless quite a problem as to how to take care of the ticket holders. The price of seats will remain at $2 each and each graduate of the university will be entitled to apply for four tickets. Persons holding a ticket privilege will have this opportunity in addition to their present right to seats. The same restrictions as to transfer or disposal of tickets will be enforced...

Earlier, the nine was barely able to keep its number of victories larger than its defeats, and some of the teams which gave it hard tussels were distinctly second class.
