...Before the game there was trouble in regard to the umpires, which trouble has been so magnified by reports being sent out which were direct misrepresentations of facts, that it tends to reflect anything but credit on the two universities. The action of Capt. King in refusing to play if Mr. Murphy umpired was entirely justifiable in view of the following facts.
