...true, I'm not reflexively opposed to psychiatric medications for teens. My perspective on all drugs is fairly libertarian. If prescription medications help teens kill themselves less often or not be as violent, I don't think they're a bad thing. In many cases, I know psychiatric meds are prescribed unnecessarily. But I don't think all the drugs in the world can explain the vast improvements we've seen in psychosocial metrics for teens since the 1980s. I'm not exactly sure why teen life is getting better, but I actually think teens are more empowered than ever...
...with effect. Case in point: the 3 billion often illegibly marked paper prescriptions that Americans get from their doctors each year. Tullman, CEO of the electronic health records company Allscripts, would like to whittle that number to zero. A functioning local government for the valley must re-emerge, with support from Baghdad, if the area hopes to break free of the militants who hold sway in its absence. "I can kill all day long," says Sutherland. "It will do no good." Four years after it came to Iraq, the U.S. has learned that lesson the hard...
...call to Semiti Qalowasa was brief. The anonymous male said: "Stop working with the squatters and exposing corruption, otherwise you are forcing us to come and rape your wife, and kill your kids and you as well...
