Died. Mrs. Annie 'Fellows Johnston, 68, authoress, after long illness; at Pewee Valley, Ky. Born in Evansville, Ind. she attained fame as the author of the "Little Colonel'' books, a series of juvenilia much admired by the girls of the last generation. The heroine, a bright child with golden curls, was the favorite of her old Confederate grandpapa, hence her nickname. Mrs. Johnston began writing "Little Colonel" books in 1892, definitely ended the series in 1929.
