Brown, a slight underdog, started off the scoring with a tally by Jim Kfoury at 2:21 of the first period. Kfoury, an inside left, took a pass from Wellford Mason and booted a high shot that hit the crossbar of the goal and dropped in behind the Crimson netminder, John Adams.
