KFOR commander General Sir Michael Jackson said last weekend that the KLA leadership was not fully in control of its "hard-liners." But this may have simply been a polite warning -? observers agree that KLA leader Hashem Thaci, despite political support from Washington, is himself one of the movement?s leading hard-liners. The ethnic cleansing of the province?s remaining Serbs and the violence against peacekeepers would be unlikely without at least the tacit support of the KLA. And that?s a problem for NATO, which insists on a multiethnic Kosovo, and opposes independence. But it?s not only...
Just as a lot of actors think they can direct, a lot of parents think their two-year-olds can splatter paint as well as Jackson Pollock. But ED HARRIS can attest that neither task is as simple as it seems. The actor is making his directorial debut--and playing the lead role--in a film based on the abstract expressionist, a project that has consumed Harris for six years. ...moments, of course. I love Kermit, and there were times when both my brother and I were laughing out loud. Numerous cameos by the likes of Hulk Hogan and "Dawson's Creek's" Joey (Katie Holmes) and Pacey (Joshua Jackson) were a nice touch. But, throughout most of the film I caught myself thinking, "Why is this going so slow? I wish something would happen!" The plot was a little too mundane and the lines were a little too predictable, though the message was certainly noble. Ideas like loyalty, a sense of belonging, and a family's love certainly speak...
