...Hurley and Cabot of last year's freshman crew came out to row with the sophomore crew yesterday. The order of the first crew was: Stroke, Dobyns; 7, Hurley; 6, Scull; 5, Fuller; 4, Woodward; 3, Barnes; 2, Kinnicutt; bow, McBurney. The order is unsettled as yet, never being the same any two days in succession. The men have not yet learned to use the slides properly, but some improvement is shown...

...last year's crew, Goodrich, Ames and Jennings are with the 'varsity squad; Cabot and Hurley are coming out later and Captain Bull is coaching. Rice is the only one of last year's crew now rowing with the squad. Their work consists of about 350 strokes on the rowing machines, and 20 minutes on the chest weights, followed by a 3 mile run. The men are to be coached by Tudor of the B. A. A., but so far most of the coaching has been done by Captain Bull, assisted by Goodrish and Perkins...
