Last Tuesday evening, Professor Lovering's numerous friends assembled at the Vendome Hotel in Boston to observe in a fitting manner the fiftieth anniversary of Professor Lovering's connection with Harvard as professor of physics. The affair consisted of a reception and banquet and was highly successful. About two hundred guests were present, amongst them being naturally many Harvard professors.
