Balloting must be standardized. Clearly, this has got out of hand. The Republicans have proposed that people vote by circling their favorite candidate's photograph with a crayon. The Democratic offer the suggestion that whatever votes are cast be recounted until their candidate wins. In honor of the Democratic candidate's inventive public service, I advocate that voting be conducted over the Internet...

With the victory, Vermont, which forfeited its entire season last year due to a hazing scandal, took command of the ECAC. While the Crimson technically remains in first place by a point, the Catamounts have four games in hand. ...Justices rule in favor of Bush that the Florida Supreme Court wrongly extended the certification deadline to include hand counts. The legal effect of this decision would actually be quite small. Bush's lead would increase from 537 votes to the earlier margin of 930 votes, but Gore could still proceed with his contest before Judge Sauls, which is based on a different set of laws entirely. Gore knows this, which is why he wasn't heavily weighed down by Friday's events. Says Democratic strategist Paul Begala: "Hell, we already lost" on the certification of Bush's lead...
