Remarkable Transformation. Two of the passports, both Uruguayan, show a jowly, balding man with heavy tortoise-shell glasses and a fringe of grey around his temples-not at all like the dashing, bearded Che of old. Then from the film came pictures of the same man in the guerrilla jungle camps. Gradually, in sequential frames of the film, a transformation occurs. He abandons the glasses, dons a rakish cap, sprouts a beard. Over a period of weeks he begins to look remarkably like Che when he came out of Cuba's Sierra Maestra with Castro...
Curtis' Kicks. Phyllis Diller owns three Excaliburs, in yellow, silver and grey-presumably rotated to match her hair. Bobby Darin, Eddie Albert, Actor James Darren, Batman Adam West and Writer Rod Serling have one apiece. Steve McQueen got one for his wife. Dick Van Dyke and his wife wear raccoon coats while tooling around in their yellow model; when people yell hello, Dick and Marjorie wave little pennants that say "HI." Tony Curtis sold his two Excaliburs. He's got four other cars anyway, and besides, Tony gets his kicks now by restoring authentic antique cars. "I suppose...
South of the Rat Islands, beneath the grey-green greasy Pacific swells off Alaska and close to the international date line that keeps Thursday from being Friday, an American submersible is missing. Shrouded in a fog bank, the S.S. Robert Louis Stevenson started on her first-and presumably last-underwater cruise on Aug. 10. Ever since, the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard have kept five search vessels and a gaggle of aircraft looking for the R.L.S. - to the intense interest of Russian trawlers in the area...

Among the archaeologists on hand were Professors Maurice Euzennat, 40, who also serves as director of antiquities of Provence and Corsica for French Minister of Culture André Malraux, and 30-year-old François Salviat. As the power shovels bit into the rocky grey soil, more and more of Massilia's fortifications began to appear. To Euzennat, it soon became apparent that a greater expanse of ramparts remained intact than anyone had estimated when fragments were unearthed earlier in the century. Moreover, the walls were definitely Greek rather than Roman, and far more important...
...drugs and alcohol. But Emily and Anne were busily writing poems and novels. Charlotte not only joined them but also took over as their agent; within two years, she had engineered the publication of a joint collection of poems and three novels: Wuthering Heights, by Ellis Bell (Emily), Agnes Grey, by Acton Bell (Anne) and Jane Eyre, by Currer Bell (Charlotte). The poems and the first two novels flopped; Jane Eyre was an immediate bestseller...
