...candidates for the University crew began rowing on the Charles yesterday afternoon. In accordance with a plan decided upon during the summer between Mr. Lehmann and Captain Goodrich, a number of men who have rowed before were called out on the first day of the college year. These candidates are to be made up into four,- possibly eight,- fours which will train for a brief period and row a race the first of November. After a week's intermission, two trial eights will be chosen from the crews of the fours, and these will race in barges, as last year...
