...accurate fielding done by both Nines, and the few spectators were often constrained to take their hands out of their pockets and applaud. Notwithstanding the numerous errors which our Nine were guilty of, the game showed plainly that practice alone is needed. The fact that much of the good playing was done by the new members, and that the "reliables" are responsible for the greater part of the muffing, is, to say the least, very encouraging.
