Harvard winning the toss, Johnson started with the ball but was soon stopped. Both sides were forced to kick after three downs, and no gain. Hallowell blocked Andover's kick near the goal. A kick for goal was tried but was missed. Harvard soon got the ball again, but Crane in making a rush was so badly hurt that Moen had to take his place.
