...York alumni dinner the other day makes noticeable once more the increasing efficiency of the Harvard clubs all over the country. Everywhere the members of the clubs have met with more than usual enthusiasm. Part of this is doubtless due to our victory at Springfield, doubly glorious after an unbroken series of defeats. But there is a greater awakening of the Harvard spirit in the land than athletic successes alone will account for. Perhaps the successful working of the elective system is dispelling the doubts which a great part of our alumni felt at first regarding its wisdom...
