Yesterday afternoon the University football squad was given the hardest work since the West Point game in a scrimmage with the Freshman eleven, winning by the score of 3 to 0. The substitutes then lined up for half an hour against the second team. The former scrimmage was the first opportunity this season to compare the strength of the Freshman team with that of the University squad, and, although Corbett and T. Frothingham were both absent, the University backfield experienced little difficulty in piercing the opposing line...
After this score, the ball was given to the first team in the middle of the field, in order further to try out the second-string backs. A forward pass from Wigglesworth to Graustein netted 14 yards, and several well directed plays in the line placed the ball in the possession of the University team on the Freshmen's 14-yard line.
