Anthony Herman Gerhard Fokker, technical chief of General Motors Corp.'s aviation division, visiting at Roosevelt Field, L. I., ran across Miss Luba Phillips, a Russian pilot, the first woman he ever taught to fly. A reunion! They should have a fly together! Her monocoupe sport plane was on the sidelines. In they jumped with Designer Fokker at the controls, up and around they darted in joyful banks, slips, spins and curleycues, all beautifully executed, all less than 500 ft. from the ground.
