...This morning several members of the University and Freshman squads attended church at Gales Ferry, and, in the afternoon, the University squad was given a sail in the house boat owned by Mr. Larz Anderson '88. The work on Saturday was light for all crews except the University four-oar, which covered about 7 miles in the afternoon. The Freshman four-oar, with Vogel at 2 instead of Loring, went about four miles, but the University four only went two, but for half a mile they rowed very hard. With the exception of this change in the 1910 four-oar the orders of the crews were the same as yesterday...
...hard row yesterday, the University crew had considerable work today. In the morning about five miles were covered, Coach Wray following in a single. The wind was strong and the washboards were necessary on account of the rough water. The eight went out again in the afternoon after the four-oar practice, and rowed downstream in one stretch until opposite the two-mile mark by the Navy Yard. After a rest the shell was rowed back. The men seem gradually to be getting together better, but Faulkner was erratic in slide control, and Fish particularly slow in starting his hands...
