He has appeared in the movie versions of such best sellers as A Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander, The Da Vinci Code and now Cornelia Funke's Inkheart, in which he plays a guy who can make fire with his hands. ...Washington Envoy Expectations President Obama's Middle East envoy, George Mitchell, kicked off a weeklong trip to the Middle East on Jan. 27, intended to bolster peace and stability in the region and extend the fragile cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. Mitchell's trip, which has included stops in Egypt and Israel for meetings with senior officials, came as a flare-up of violence in Gaza left two people dead. ...French acronym for the U.N. peacekeeping force of blue helmets and white vehicles in Congo--is the force tasked with getting R2P up and running. MONUC began work in 1999, years before R2P came into effect. But as the U.N.'s idea of peacekeeping evolved from deterrence and cease-fire-monitoring to peace-enforcing, so MONUC grew. A few hours later, the rebels carried Sister Marķa to the front line. From there, a group of nuns took her to the Rutshuru...

An Israeli military spokesman told journalists investigating the shootings that the army had no information on the alleged incident but said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is "currently engaged...
