...weakness in this respect is simply a part of the whole offensive weakness. Defensively, the line has improved greatly but has had, in very few instances, to contend with the type of fast concerted rushing attack which it must encounter in the big games. The Dartmouth rushing attack often fell short of the strength which can be expected from now on and for this reason it is difficult to say whether the Harvard line defense will be adequate or not. If the Harvard line plays the game of which it is capable it probably can stop Princeton's rushing game...
...first quarter Pfaffman sent a low kick just over the cross-bar for the first score, after three line plunges had failed to gain the required distance. Bowdoin made a strong bid to tie the score, but Smith's 44-yard attempt for a field goal fell short and wide of its mark. At the start of the second half Chapin ran back a punt to within 23 yards of the vositors goal posts. An offside penalty and line plunges by Gehrke and Chapin resulted in the first touchdown. The second came after a punting duel with the Crimson finally...
...were not up to their usual form. The former was able to continue through the game but Byington had to give way to Pringle after a severe blow in the face. Dorman at the middle of the second half, sprained a ligament, and Greenidge, the University's clever fullback, fell on his wrist when attempting to intercept the ball, breaking both bones...
Following Churchill's lengthy zig-zag run for the opening score, after which Hammond drop-kicked the goal, the Crimson soon obtained possession of the ball on Florida's 26-yard line when Pomeroy muffed a punt which Kunhardt fell on as Holder took out the Southern quarterback. The Hammond, Churchill, and Rouillard alternated running with the ball until two first downs were secured by short, consistent gains. Rouillard finally plunged through the left side of the Florida line for the second touchdown and Hammond kicked the goal. The Crimson did not score again until the second period when Hammond...
Until now the University has taken no official action towards erecting a fitting memorial to its alumni who fell in the war. There have been many suggestions; but the only war memorials to Harvard men at present established, are from individuals, the Victor Chapman and the Fiske Fellowships, the Webster scholarship, and the Farnsworth Room. The Sargent paintings, placed where Harvard men, graduates and undergraduates, are passing by hundreds every day, stand as a constant and striking reminder of how much the University's living owe to the sacrifices of its dead...
