...Yale spring regatta was held on Saturday on Lake Whitney. Although not so much interest is taken at New Haven in class rowing as at Harvard, the races were thoroughly successful, except for the small number of entries. The class races were rowed in heats, the juniors beating the seniors by half a length, and the sophomores beating the second and the first two freshman crews by a length and a little over a length respectively. Stillman pitched fairly well, except in the second inning, when he was hit three times and gave a base on balls. He showed a tendency to carelessness except when in a tight place, and generally did not pitch his best until Lafayette had men on bases. Reid was not up to his usual form, allowing two passed balls and making a wild throw to second, which would have been an error but for an exceptionally good catch by Coolidge.
