...Yale spring regatta was held on Saturday on Lake Whitney. Although not so much interest is taken at New Haven in class rowing as at Harvard, the races were thoroughly successful, except for the small number of entries. The class races were rowed in heats, the juniors beating the seniors by half a length, and the sophomores beating the second and the first two freshman crews by a length and a little over a length respectively. The sophomores won the final race with the juniors by a length. The series of scrub races between the Pirates, the Harlequins...

Harvard outplayed Lafayette at every point yesterday afternoon and won by a score of 8 to 2. The Lafayette nine played better than any team which has been here this season except Brown, and the game was in doubt for five innings. The work of the nine in the field was much better than in Saturday's game, but was not so sharp as might be expected at this time of the year. The batting was not strong enough to have won against one of the big teams. The fact that seven men hit safely, however, is an encouraging feature...

Stillman pitched fairly well, except in the second inning, when he was hit three times and gave a base on balls. He showed a tendency to carelessness except when in a tight place, and generally did not pitch his best until Lafayette had men on bases. Reid was not up to his usual form, allowing two passed balls and making a wild throw to second, which would have been an error but for an exceptionally good catch by Coolidge. Kendall did not cover much ground and missed a thrown ball...
