Research. Except for cancer, AIDS now receives more Government research money than any other illness in America. AIDS gets $1.2 billion to $1.3 billion. Heart disease, for example, receives about half as much, $700 billion. The AIDS research allocation is not just huge, it is hugely disproportionate. AIDS has killed 83,000 Americans in nine years. After last Monday's game, Ryan received a congratulatory call from the team owner's dad. No big deal -- except that the owner's dad is George Bush. It is remarkable that all Warsaw Pact countries except the Soviet Union are for full German membership in NATO. Poland, Hungary and Czechoslovakia are in favor of it -- unconditionally and completely. Why? Simply because they do not want Germany to be isolated. The U.S., all our other allies and the Germans themselves should raise this issue in their talks...
