...graduate competition will be open to all holders of academic degrees who have been in the Graduate School for a full year. The range of the graduate essay subjects will be limited to philosophy, political science and history. Essays that have been presented for other prizes or for academic degrees elsewhere than at Harvard College, will not be accepted. As in the case of the undergraduate essays, the topics or subjects must be approved in advance by the Prize Committee, and handed in at the same time and place.
