On Saturday, Harvard returned home and promptly squashed Yale, 6-1. The Elis had no chance as the Crimson played tough from top to bottom.
Instead, the Elis won their first Ivy league games, shutting out the Crimson twice, 8-0 and 4-0. Then Harvard rallied behind junior pitcher John Birtwell to take out Yale on Sunday, 6-1.
The Crimson blew a 5-3 halftime lead last season against the Bulldogs en route to a narrow 10-9 defeat, but Harvard has performed much better in close contests this season and has legitimate shot at knocking off the Elis.
No matter how much Yale tries, it will never be able to become Harvard. Hence the institution's endemic unhappiness. What someone needs to explain to the Elis is that contentment lies in accepting yourself, your strengths and limitations. Yale has a better exam schedule, a more lax alcohol policy...
