Harvard eighty-eight's action in passing a resolution deeming it inadvisable to row Columbia before the Yale Harvard race seems to show an element of weakness. What are the reasons that can be advanced for such action? First it uses up the crew. Second, that Yale may gain points from the race. As to the first of these reasons it can only be said that a crew in proper training and condition should be able to row races on consecutive days if necessary, let alone an interval of several days.
