Students in the Harvard Engineering School are not to be allowed to apply for the first two units of the House Plan. Whether, in time, this group will be included, or whether separate quarters will be provided for it is still in doubt. But before the problem of the disposal of these some 200 students is finally solved, it is necessary to note both the lack of fairness and the lack of wisdom in separating the Engineering School from the remainder of the College...

Each House is intended to comprise as nearly as may be a cross-section of the whole residential membership of the college, to be selected by the Masters and their assistants from the applicants. On the other, however, I more than doubt the wisdom of placing complete control of House athletics in the hands of the several captains. Inevitable disagreements with the captain's general policy and wide spread disapproval of patently faulty judgment in his picking and handling of men are frequently encountered here at Cambridge, and are generally...

There is quite a little to be said for such a location for the Bank, and no doubt the bankers assembled at Baden took care to say just that. But the reasons for locating the Bank in Switzerland are clear, and it is difficult to see how the balance could be overweighted except in favor of some other country which holds the same neutral position as Switzerland, and at the same time boasts an age-old reputation as a European banking center...
