...Cranston did the best work in the rush line. All the backs played well, rushing more effectively and fumbling less than in any previous game. The playing of the eleven, as a whole, however, was loose and lacking in team play. Whenever a man rushed he had to depend almost wholly on himself. The rest of the men did not back him up or block off as they should. There is a tendency to foul holding that must be gotten over also...

...Sears still retains his prestige as champion. It would have been a surprise, indeed, if after his skillful playing at New Haven Mr. Sears had been outplayed here. The tournament had the good effect of bringing out a number of young and promising players, upon whom we must depend for upholding Harvard's supremacy in tennis in the future. The managers of the tournament should receive the thanks of all who enjoyed the contests for the successful way in which the tournament was conducted...

This afternoon the Harvard nine goes out to a struggle on whose results depend in part its chances for the championship pennant this year. The nine has done some splendid work since it last encountered the Yale team and has inspired the college at large with confidence of its ability to beat Yale in the contest to-day. Both the fielding and the batting of the nine has improved greatly with its constant practice, and the steady work of the battery in all the games leaves nothing to be asked from that quarter except that it maintain its excellent standard...
