...chief reason for Harvard's defeat was the ragged fielding which was noticeable throughout the game, and which was plainly caused by nervousness. Most of the errors were made on difficult plays, but several were quite inexcusable and proved very costly. In batting Harvard was distinctly superior to Princeton, but was unfortunate in not bunching hits at the right time. Clarkson deserves a great deal of credit for his excellent work with the stick. Twice he came to bat with a man on third base, and each time he brought in a run, beside making a third hit, which...

Chagrined and disappointed as we necessarily feel over our defeat by Princeton we still feel that our nine deserves commendation for its season's work. During the first few weeks of practice it looked as if it would be impossible to form even a fairly good team, yet today we have one of the very strongest teams in the field, and the strongest that Harvard has had for the last three years. We wish Captain...

...this year, and thus lost the last scheduled game with Brown, which it was very important to win. Each team has now won two games and no deciding game has been arranged. Strangely enough each team has lost both the games on the home grounds. In spite of the defeat there is some consolation in the fact that Harvard is the only team which has won two games from Brown this year...

...Saturday afternoon the Yale nine defeated Princeton at Manhattan Field, New York, by the score of 8 to 4. The two colleges are now tied, each having won two games of the series. The deciding game will be played at New Haven. Princeton made three runs early in the game, but Yale tied the score in the sixth inning, and in the eighth had everything her own way, making five runs to Princeton's one. Wilson weakened considerably at the critical point of the game, which went far towards Princeton's defeat...
