...them should be only Saturdays and holidays. The CRIMSON, in a very outspoken article, calls this a monstrous proposition, of which the practical result will be the abolition of the contests sought to be regulated. And, indeed, it is self-evident that, in taking Harvard out of the league, defeat is invited in any encounter (except boating) with Yale, for want of the same discipline against first-rate antagonists; and regular defeat means discouragement and disgust for the loser. Nor, we suppose, is it certain that, under the new conditions, Yale would condescend to play with Harvard at all, while...

...Williams' game of yesterday augurs well for the batting of the nine which was so weak last Monday. Still it must be remembered that next Saturday the nine will not have the advantage of playing on its own grounds, and over confidence has been the cause of defeat to more than one Harvard team. The best wishes of the whole college follow the nine, and all that is needed to win the championship this year is to hold with a steady grip the lead which we now have over Yale...

Yesterday afternoon Harvard played its first championship game for the season, and defeated Princeton by a score of nine to three. With this victory each college in the three-cornered league has one game to its credit, with this advantage for Harvard that, whereas both Yale and Princeton have each met one defeat, Harvard's record is, up to this time, clear. As the intercollegiate series now stands, Princeton is practically out of the race, having lost two games and gained but one. Thus our chief opponent is to be, as of old, Yale. We certainly have many reasons...

...home team. Indeed, Harvard had the ball almost all the time, and was continually attacking the goal of her opponents. New York's defence of her goal was the only commendable part of her play. Roberts and Miller here distinguished themselves, and saved their team from a worse defeat...
