In the article about Islamic discontent fomenting in Britain [Aug. 21], Beena Faridi of the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) characterizes Israel's actions of self-defense as collective punishment of the Lebanese. Cross-border raids involving murder and kidnapping and indiscriminate rocket fire aimed at civilians are clear violations of human rights and international law. Doesn't the IHRC believe that human rights should apply to all humans?
