Because of the Crimson victory, Fish--who is working with the Harvard tennis team in Florida tied Harry L. Cowles for second place on the list of Harvard's winningest squash coaches. Jack Barnaby stands atop that list with 355 wins.
This past weekend, Pandole--who is ranked number three in the country--won the Harvard Club's Harry Cowles Tournament, a three-day invitational featuring many of the nation's top 20 amateur players.
Cowles Professor of Government Judith N. Shklar, who was joined by Associate Professor Michael J. Sandel and former Harvard professor and famous social critic Michael J. Walzer, told an audience of 200 that the field of political theory revived itself through the study of intellectual history.
Harvard's premier player, Kenton Jernigan, won the Cowles Tournament for the second year in a row, confirming his number one national amateur standing. Jernigan easily defeated second-ranked amateur Derek Niederman in Sunday's finals in three straight games, 15-9, 16-14, and 15-6.
