...Trinity Ivy is a very interesting publication. It bears on its cover the ivy from which it is named, and contains all that can be desired in the way of statistics and general information, while most of its illustrations show good taste. It is the only anual from any of the New England colleges that contains the photograph of the editors and as such displays individuality. This year's number will be the twelfth, the publication being started in 1873 by the junior class. It is interesting to note that the Ivy displays originality by presenting among its other information...
...quite remarkable, considering that this fall he had been able to practice one day only, but his throwing was not up to his mark in former years. Rueter played steadily and effectively at point, but did not pass the ball and sometimes missed his throw. Marquand was new to cover-point's position, and it is to be hoped he will improve during the week. Bradford ran finely and made several good plays, but he failed to cover his man at important moments. The same may be said of Goodale. Their laxity in covering often placed Rueter and Marquand...

Frequently in that part of the field a clever dodge is very effective. The men should learn to handle the ball with greater skill. If some of these points are remedied, we do not see why our very strong team...

...although his throwing was not up to last year's mark. Rueter and Marquand filled their positions satisfactorily. Bradford ran finely, and Baldwin used the body-check effectively. As a whole the team failed to catch and pass as well as we hoped, and the defence fielders did not cover their men closely. On the other hand our team played a harder and sharper game than ever before, and we look to see them do good work for the Oelrichs cup. Tomorrow we shall give a more particular account of the faults and merits of the players, collectively and individually...
