President Ronald Reagan is dead, but his legacy not only lives on; it dominates the American political landscape. Today many of the core principles of the "Reagan Revolution" that began with his victory over President Jimmy Carter in 1980 remain conventional wisdom not only for the Republican Party he remade in his own image, but also for the Democrats. ...could conceivably be enough to swing a state or two in what insiders expect to be another close election. As the news from Iraq gets even worse, Nader--who supports a total withdrawal of U.S. forces in six months--could become the candidate of choice for the most hard-core antiwar voters, who may see little difference between John Kerry's stay-the-course approach and Bush's. But people who have a core set of values have no difficulty communicating them. That Kerry is the son of a diplomat and was partly educated in European schools does not prove he overintellectualizes. It suggests that he believes he is entitled to govern the country, never mind that he has neither the skills nor the values needed for that task. DUANE E. LAMERS Troy, Mich...
