...statistics given out by the Secretary for Student Employment are decidedly encouraging. The office undertakes to recommend University students and graduates as tutors, and for such temporary or part time work as is available. It also endeavors, as far as possible, to increase the demand for this work. In comparison with 1912-13 the figures show a decrease of 43 men employed, but an increase of $14,690.97 in the amount earned. Twenty positions, bringing in approximately $3,300 were filled through the co-operation of the recently organized Appointment Office of the Harvard Club of New York. These...

...comparison of the methods of offence as employed by either team shows little resemblance between the two attacks, except in the punting department, in which phase of the game the two elevens are of such even power that the team favored by the wind will doubtless be the more successful in the kicking game. Yale bases her ability to score on a plan of offence which aims to outflank the opponent by making a drive at either wing, only to pass the ball laterally over the heads of the opposing men who have been drawn in in an attempt...

Coolidge and Hardwick possess the greatest ability in getting down the field quickly under punts and tackling their man, both Stillman and Brann frequently missing the runner through insecure tackling...

...finding English salvation in the British quality of "you-be-damnedness." That Harvard has it in individuals is evident from the somewhat daring editorials. There, for instance, R. G. N. avers that better poetry is now written in the college than is printed in current magazines. To judge by comparison with the current Atlantic he has some color of truth. B. P. Clark's "Nocturne" and E. E. Cumming's "Night" have at least greater freshness of descriptive material. The exotic quality of R. S. Nathan's "Evening"--a vague title, yet deserving a place on the title page--perhaps...
