Last week a conservative columnist in the British press complained that many commentators were comparing Obama with Jesus Christ, and I thought he was exaggerating. But then I read in TIME: "Some princes are born in palaces, some are born in mangers. But a few are born in the imagination, out of scraps of history and hope."
