Rotund, white-bearded Dr. Shull, who looks like Santa Claus, does not feel gypped at having received no royalties so long as he is recognized as the Santa Claus of hybrid corn. But he remarked last week that if he had received the merest fraction of 1? an acre, he would have been able to set up an independent department of botany at Princeton. It rather irks him that, the way things are, botany is corralled in Princeton's department of biology...
...conquered Belgians. Hero was the original Tarzan, big, soft-looking Elmo Lincoln, playing a blacksmith into whose custody the captured Kaiser (Rupert Julian) was given after the War. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO FILL THEM WITH THIS TIME? With the flesh of your wives? With the bowels of your children...

Jungeblut of Columbia noticed that patients with ill-balanced diets suffered far more from the disease than those who had lots of vitamin C. Dr. Jungeblut put the statistics to experimental test, by going to work on some monkeys. He dribbled small amounts of polio virus into the noses of 56 monkeys, then gave them injections of natural vitamin C. Result: 33 monkeys (59%) became mildly sick, but had no fever or paralysis. The remaining 23 "developed complete or partial paralysis of the extremities...
