...occurs near the start of Breaking News, when the roving dread director Johnnie To has carefully built up crystallizes in a single glance that passes between an oblivious cop and a laconic hit man (Richie Jen) posing as a lost motorist. It's pure To, who's proved in classic cops-and-triad films like The Mission and PTU that he possesses a finely tuned mastery of suspense, of those last moments before the ordinary everyday plunges into sudden violence...
Sebago, now part of the same group that makes Merrell outdoor shoes, is back with its classic Docksides boat shoe, but the company has added more modern, sports-inspired versions and a women's line of sandals. It's even inspiring others: Tod's new moc, above left, borrows from the Docksides standard...
Grapes that thrive here are classic cool-climate growers. The best wines offer mouth-watering qualities that leave you wanting more. The Chardonnay can be light and fresh, the Riesling limelike, the Gewurztraminer spicy, and the glorious grape of Burgundy, Pinot Noir, velvety. The wineries are friendly and ready to receive. We've been ad-libbing and improvising together." That bodes...

Wilco's previous album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, a collection of well-sculpted melodies buried in layers of static, radio noise and percussion, so bewildered executives at the band's record label, Reprise, that they refused to release it. In response, Wilco left Reprise, bought the rights to the album and released...
