...results that feel forced. Periodically, for example, Harold’s wristwatch briefly becomes a character before disappearing again from the plot. This device does nothing to enhance the movie’s tone, and since there are no other cases of spontaneous anthropomorphism, it ends up becoming a cheap plot prop. Other points in the movie feature computer-generated modeling of Harold’s thoughts, but this technique, too, is used so rarely as to become superfluous. There’s so much cool but pointless visual trickery in this film that one begins to suspect Forster...
...Some areas of the new site are way off-kilter. The local dining guide for Los Angeles called a cheap Vietnamese veggie joint in Reseda named Vinh Loi Tofu its highest rated restaurant, based upon a single review. Vinh Loi Tofu? In a major city that boasts Spago, Michaels, Koi, A.O.C., the Ivy, Crustacean and dozens of other amazing eateries? Narrowing my search to the TIME bureau's zip code of 90025, the Top 5 included a Starbucks located seven miles down the road. Some software obviously needs to be tweaked and some users' palates upgraded...

His gay Austrian character on “Da Ali G Show,” Bruno, is a ridiculous, hyper-flamboyant character, but he isn’t an indictment of all of Austria, just as Ali G and his “Staines massive” gang don’t represent the entirety of England...
