Bush was all over the airwaves Wednesday, announcing a new compromise bill that "can pass both bodies so we can leave for Christmas knowing full well that we have done the people's business" and bringing along three centrist Democratic senators as evidence. The Republican-controlled House even stayed up late Wednesday night to prove that the new bill could pass through their body, anyway...
