...university to coach the crew of the other. Traditions are at times lost sight of, however, and when this occurs it requires careful work to restore their sway. For instance, for several years prior to last year's race Cambridge won by superior leg work. Cambridge, however, was becoming careless in body form, and Oxford, perceiving her error, worked until she successfully grafted good leg work upon good style, which she has always preserved easily on account of the enlistment of men from Eton College, the great rowing school of England. The result was that Oxford won last year...
...desperate rally of the Yale team after the tide had turned against them. They earned their single touch-down if ever a team did; they simply pushed the ball straight up the field. It was desperate work, but it could not defeat Harvard. Captain Cumnock's men were somewhat careless after they had scored their second touchdown, and this is one reason why Yale succeeded in scoring; for after that Yale touchdown they settled down to steady work again, and all of Yale's efforts were in vain after that...

The winners will play Tallant and Lee for the championship of the college. The score by games...
...team and nearly half the length of the field was remarkable. Fearing also played well; his tackling is peculiar but effective. The rush line work was, on the whole, good, and at some times brilliant. One of the worst faults of the rushers now is the tendency to become careless. Cornell got through the line many times Saturday on this account. Another is the inability to stop a V quickly; nearly every team that has played the 'varsity this year has regularly gained ten and fifteen yards whenever they put the ball in play in this way. Dean's passing...
