Died. Marshal Pietro Badoglio, 85, bullet-bald soldier who conquered Ethiopia for Mussolini (1935-36); in Grazzano Badoglio, Italy. Badoglio won fame and quick promotions as a field officer in World War I, was named army chief of staff in 1919.
