With 41 men reporting to Coach Sexton on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon prospects of a profitable fall practice for the baseball squad are exceedingly bright. The work yesterday consisted of an hour's batting and fielding practice in which every member of the squad took part. This was followed by a game between teams A and B on the University diamond, while the other candidates practiced on the Freshman diamond. Last year Coach Sexton, without the advantage of previous knowledge of the men, and without any extraordinary array of material, turned out a team which defeated Yale at Cambridge and at New Haven, rendering a game in New York unnecessary. ...fencing squad will be called out this afternoon for the first time this year. A large proportion of those who fenced in College last year are back again, and several new men have already signified their intention of joining the squad, so that the prospect for the year is bright.
