...fifth hare and hounds run of the season was held yesterday afternoon. The hounds won for the first time this year. It was a fast hunt; that is, there was no break and the hounds were not required to keep together. The hares, Gorham, '90 and Downs, '90 started from Matthews at 3.21 and left a very good trail through Cambridge to Fresh Pond, thence through Watertown, the Newtons, Brighton and Barry's Corners, leaving the back at the last named place. ...those who do not know the difference between the fast and slow hunts, it will be well to say that in the fast hunt, instead of having a break at the finish, the hounds are allowed to run as they please all the way, and thus dispense with a master of hounds. ...third hare and hound run of the season was held yesterday afternoon. The hares, Seelye, '88, and Priest, '91, laid a good cross-country trail to Belmont, returning by way of Fresh Pond.
